And In Other Transit News, Baylink Is BAAAAACK!?!?

New, 10 comments

Baylink, that old plan to connect Miami with Miami Beach via a light-rail system over the MacArthur Causeway, is poking its finger out through the earth. Not quite risen from the dead yet, it is one of a few rail-based transit options being studied now by Miami Beach and the Miami-Dade MPO to connect the beach with the mainland. The others are a wireless streetcar that runs on batteries by a company called FEVE, a plan for a county-wide system of toll lanes to fund light rail, or a Bus Rapid Transit system, which is basically a bunch of new buses in designated lanes.
