All Aboard Florida's Trains Could Be Big And Orange

New, 1 comment

Two international train-building companies are competing for the All Aboard Florida contract, which will be for ten sets of trains. Here is one of the proposals, providing for either a five car or six car train configuration, with an option to add a glass top to the lounge cars. It looks like every car will be two levels, which is cool, but they'll also be very orange, and apparently the Florida East Coast Railway - instead of referencing its majestic history and calling it something classy - is pretty serious about the 'All Aboard Florida' name. Where's a good brand-identity firm when you need one?

Coming up: As much as we know, or can surmise, about plans for the stations, their locations, and all the cool urban planning ideas people are dreaming up around them.
