The fate of the Miami Herald's bayfront building, which it is vacating next year, is still not sealed. At last night's historic preservation board meeting, passions were heightened, and the debate was heated, but the ultimate decision was to make a more "in-depth analysis" and reconvene, wherein a decision will be made. The DHT argued for preservation, Bernardo Fort-Breschia argued for demolition, and insults were thrown by many. In the meantime, a 90-day temporary ban on demolition, and the fact that the Herald still works out of the building, will stop Genting from knocking the place down. [Miami Herald]
