Juvia Awarded Design of the Year; South Street Restaurant & Bar Now Open

AWARDS— This morning, Esquire magazine announced its Best New Restaurants of 2012 for the November issue. Out of the 20 slots awarded, Miami's own Juvia wins Design of the Year. A notable win, Juvia's penthouse location at the iconic 1111 building in South Beach has gotten a lot of attention since its February opening with distinguished views of the city.

OPENINGS— Today South Street Restaurant & Bar opens to the public in the former Sra. Martinez space in the Design District. Eater got an inside look at the bluesy neo-soul food restaurant-bar-lounge.

PLYWOOD— The chef/partner of The River Seafood & Oyster Bar in Brickell David Bracha is expanding to open his second Miami location in the Design District. Bracha says it will be named Oak Tavern and serve modern American food, slated for a soft opening November 1, as of now.
