MIAMI BEACH - This election day, Miami Beach ballots will ask residents whether or not they think that any weakening of Miami Beach's historic preservation standards, or lessening of the power of the Historic Preservation board should go for a public vote. Right now, this power does not lie in public hands, but preservationists believe that requiring a public vote will do a lot to secure the architectural heritage of the city against future threats. They say vote yes on Ballot Measure #304.
