Rent A Miami Pioneer's Lavish Grove Estate For $20,000/M

New, 2 comments

Built 102 years ago for John T. Peacock of that founding family of Coconut Grove, the Peacocks, this lavish $20,000/month house just might be the most historic rental in South Florida. The Peacocks were to Miami what the Knickerbockers are to New York, part of that small corps of people that were here before basically anybody else. They owned lots of land, Henry Flagler's railroad came into town, thus starting a development boom, and making them very rich. So, they built this abode.

The 6,300 square foot house comes on an acre of land (a LOT of Land for a Grove house), 5 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, formal living and dining areas, a pool, a tennis court, a very grand entrance, and lots of that jungly old growth hammock that used to cover the area. A generator, impact resistant windows, and 1,500 bottle wine cellar mean you'll always be very hurricane ready. Pioneer settlers don't come unprepared.
