Cabbie!

Why do many New Yorkers use taxis as daily modes of transportation and Miamians, even in urban areas, don't? According to a new report by the Swiss bank UBS [They fund Art Basel by the way] taking a taxi in Miami is roughly twice as expensive as taking a taxi in New York for the same distance. Yep. So, it's not necessarily because we're less affluent or they have to go shorter distances than we do. It's also the large difference in price. Up there a 3 mile ride costs about 8 bucks, while here the same distance is over $15. [Atlantic Cities]
