Miami Beach Is Looking At A Wireless Streetcar For Baylink

New, 2 comments

Transportation wonks are making progress on revived plans for a Baylink rail extension to Miami Beach, studying the feasibility of using a visually unobtrusive streetcar system for the MacArthur Causeway, according to exMiami. The City of Miami Beach is currently exploring a 'catenary free' (no overhead wires) system used in historic Seville by FEVE, a Spanish transit company. Although they're also considering enhancing bus access, with no wires to obstruct that million dollar view of cruise ships at PortMiami, the FEVE system looks to likely be the beach's preferred Baylink option.
