Piet Mondrian was a painter famous for the excessive rectangularity of his paintings. Rectangles upon rectangles upon rectangles, oh my! But for him, it worked. Then there's the new hotel tower being built atop Met Square, designed by Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates, that reminds one of Mondrian's rectangles on an acid trip overdose. And not the good kind. Can rectangles give people seizures? If so, people on the Epic Hotel's amenity deck across the way better not get too close to the pool. There's no lifeguard on duty to pluck them out.
