It looks like over-the-top plans for the abandoned hospital and empty plots of land wedged between Alton Road, 5th Street, and West Avenue called Sobe Park have been massively scaled back to a much more modest scheme by comparison, according to exMiami. The new design, by an unnamed architect, does however have its moments. The southern and most visible facade is an undulating glass curve raised on piloti above an open pedestrian area. Generous terraces capture views, and the aesthetic is rather like a cruise ship. Very appropriate.
