A three-story penthouse has sold at the Continuum in South Beach for $25 million, beating a five month old South Florida condo sale record set by a $21 million zen spread at the top of the Setai. The seller was Alex Birkenstock, heir to the Birkenstock fortune (Which is more of a Coconut Grove shoe than a South Beach shoe anyways) and the buyer was an Italian investor (very appropriate). The Birkenstock sky-haus is loaded with five bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms, 6,000 square feet of outdoor space on six terraces, an internal elevator, and (de rigueur practically for Miami's bling-est penthouses) a pool.
