This week's top dish from Eater Miami, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...
BRICKELL - Rumors were flying this past week and no rumor was bigger than the possible return of chef Thomas Keller to South Florida. The Miami Herald stated that "multiple industry sources say Keller has been actively looking for a space in the Downtown Miami Brickell area."
SOUTH BEACH - Miami's dining scene is anxiously awaiting the biggest restaurant opening of the summer when The Bazaar by Jose Andres debuts in the new SLS South Beach. Reservations for Andres' imaginative culinary restaurant from LA were officially released this week on OpenTable, with an exclusive tasting sweepstakes, for the June 19 opening.
CORAL GABLES - After undeniable success with their opening of Yardbird on South Beach, 50 Eggs Restaurant Group continues their southern love affair with their upcoming addition of Swine Southern Table and Bar to Coral Gables. Slated to open in October, Swine's executive chef, former Top Chef contestant Kenny Gilbert has begun porking around with the menu.
DESIGN DISTRICT - Some more rumormongering from this week has chef Michelle Bernstein shaking up her Miami restaurant group. The possible shuffle has Sra. Martinez vacating the old Post Office in the Design District in favor of a move to the same space as her Upper East Side Michy's. While her people denied that rumor, Bernstein and her husband/partner David Martinez are shopping around Miami for the possible opening of a new Mexican concept.
