The James Royal Palm Tabs Kris Wessel; Yardbird's Gatekeeper Eddie Acevedo

This week's top dish from Eater Miami, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

MIAMI BEACH - With The James Royal Palm set to open up in October, the hotel was looking for an authentic and homey restaurant to balance the glitz and glamour of their already announced Catch. The answer to their problems is a man who has Miami roots buried deep in the sand for over 100 years, Kris Wessel. Wessel will open Florida Cookery in the hotel, named after a 1940s-era Junior League cookbook he found ni his grandmother's kitchen.

SOUTH BEACH - In this month's installment of The Gatekeepers, Yardbird's Director of Operations Eddie Acevedo sat down to tell Eater when is the best time to stop by to get your chicken and waffles, how their "Midnight Chef's Table" is going, and who are their favorite VIPs. Yardbird also launched this week their "Southern Social", a daily happy hour with guest bartenders stopping by.

FATHERS DAY - If you are in need of a plan for Sunday, Eater Miami provides you with a map of some of your best options to celebrate Dad. This includes the no-hold-barred, man feast of all man feasts that is brewing between The Federal and Tudor House.

MIAMI BEACH - After closing their doors for a face-lift, the folks behind Morgan's on the Beach will reopen tomorrow night as Georgia's Union, a southern restaurant with a menu of organic soul food.
