Take The Great Glass Car Elevator To Your Home In The Sky

New, 4 comments

Totally ignoring current seismic shifts in real estate towards walkability, mixed uses, sustainability, and the future of planet earth, developer Gil Dezer is planning the most absolutely fabulous condo tower to hit Miami in decades. This is the Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles Beach, designed by Porsche. You arrive at the tower by car (there's a sidewalk somewhere for unfortunate walkers, one assumes), and drive up to the elevator bay (through the lobby?), where you turn off the car, sit back, and chill out in the car, watching the views while the oceanfront car elevator whisks you and your car up to your apartment, complete with two to four private garage spaces outside the front door. There are three of these giant elevators, leading to all 132 units on all 57 floors. The whole building is projected to cost more than $500 million, with individual condos beginning at either $3.8 million, or $9 million (we've heard conflicting reports). Oh, and it was just approved by the Sunny Isles commission, so this baby is going up!
