Classic 1950's MiMo Motel on Biscayne Blvd for $4.5 Million

New, 3 comments

Here now, From Curbed Marketplace, highlighting an intriguing pick from that spot at the top of the page that rotates listings and makes real estate junkies refresh and refresh and refresh the page until the trackpad is dotted with blood.

Dying to take a skeezy retro motel and make it super chic? You're looking at the New Yorker and just loving what they did with the place? Here's your chance, with a real beaut for $4.5 Million right on the intersection of Biscayne Boulevard and the quaint (in an urban sort of a way) Little River canal. The owners have done some of the work for you, with somewhat updated rooms, and a new name (The obviously not retro sounding Motel Blu). This fully loaded motel comes with 62 rooms, a pool, an owner's apartment, a waterfront restaurant, a lower waterfront dining area, and all the 1950s charm you can shake a stick at. Oh, and for some unexplainable reason the Biscayne Boulevard MiMo historic district legally ends just before the motel, so if you hate MiMo you can demolish it and begin anew. Preservationists be damned!
