Wynwood's world class collection of street art has had a monumental effect on the neighborhood, and the works are visual marquees of its transformation. The extremely high-art graffiti is also somewhat oxymoronic and contradictory. As an art form born of the streets, with an identity routed in rebellion, the close alliance of street artists and the establishment in Wynwood is rather uncomfortable. This is an irony the neighborhood is just beginning to tackle.
