Homestead's Historic Seminole Theatre Still In The Mothballs

Overtown's much ballyhooed historic Lyric Theatre, after a widely heralded restoration and expansion, often sits empty. The much adored Coconut Grove Playhouse remains idle as bureaucracy and drama surround it. Then there's the lesser-known Seminole Theatre, in downtown Homestead, which opened in 1921 as a silent movie house. Even though a renovation was announced in 1997, fifteen years ago, it still stands empty. And Homestead is Home wants to know why. The Seminole's website hasn't even been updated since 2006
