The Gables Shackin'; Updates to the Eater 38 and the Eater Heatmap

CORAL GABLES - Expanding his Shake Shack mini-chain, Danny Meyer is set to cut the ribbon on his second Miami shack, opening the Coral Gables outpost to the public on July 12. Located across the street from the UM campus, the menu is all the standard Shake Shack grub with a couple typical twists on concretes for the Gables: "The 'U' Malt", "Coral Crisp", and "Cookie Cubana".

MAPS! - Big week for some house cleaning at Eater as we updated our Eater 38, your answer and ours to any question that begins, “Can you recommend a restaurant?”. We also updated our Heatmap, highlighting where foodie crowds are flocking to at the moment.

SOUTH BEACH - The Dutch in the W Hotel is going to work on some barbecue for the month of July, cooking up a different regional barbecue every Tuesday. Each menu is priced at $30 per person with a full family style feast of grub. Menus on deck for the rest of the month: St. Louis, Carolinas, Korean, and Chef's Favorite.

CRAZY PEOPLE - Competitive eater/professional crazy person Takeru Kobayashi sure can eat a whole bunch of food. In honor of the great sport of competitive eating, head over to Eater National to watch him eat 397 hot dogs, 32 eggs, 337 chicken wings, 13 sandwiches, 25 peeps, 30 tacos, 16 bananas, and chug 25 bottles of milk.
