Miami's Hottest Brokers Day 2, Round 1: DeBianchi & Imbesi

New, 22 comments

Welcome to Day 2 of Miami's Hottest Brokers. Introducing our nominees:

Samantha DeBianchi of DeBianchi Real Estate

Q What's your best advice for buyers and renters?
A The best advice I give clients is to really figure out what's best for THEM. Buying versus renting; figuring out the right time to sell their home; --there are so many variables and it's important to work with the right realtor that will listen and figure out the best gamplan and strategy that fits the their life appropriately. Every client is different and strategies should cater to each individual appropriately.

Q What is the strangest / funniest thing that's ever happened to you as a broker?
A I make it a point to meet all my clients in person before "officially" working with them regardless of whether they contacted me via phone or email. I think anyone can pick up a phone or send a quick email but making an effort to physically see who you are working with is so important to me. Needless to say, since I will work around my client's life to accommodate them, I have had some initial meeting appointments in some interesting situations and places.

Q What did you do before you became a broker? What happened with that?
A Before real estate, I managed nightclubs. I was able to turn that into a college course, which I now teach as an adjunct professor at FIU (Nightclub Management, HFT 3271). My hospitality experience has really made me become successful in the real estate world as I learned such things as sales, psychology, business, and of course hospitality--understanding how to truly cater to people and provide them with what they need--all of these things have really been essential for me to be able to create my own niche.

Jessica Imbesi of Weichert Realtors Best Beach

Q What's your best advice for buyers and renters?
A For my renters, I tell them now is the best time to buy with all-time low rates and home prices. The problem that we find in this current market is the lack of inventory. I tell my buyers, that when you find a home you love don't procrastinate on putting in an offer or think that a low ball offer in this market will get you the home. If you like it most likely there are 20 other people who have been waiting for the same criteria to pop up! So make your move!

Q What is the strangest / funniest thing that's ever happened to you as a broker?
A I have had a few funny moments but the most recent was when I had a couple in my car and was showing them homes. They started fighting over what property they liked. The wife got out of the car at a red light and started walking down the street. Needless to say, an hour goes by and I am still parked on the side of the road waiting for them to finish their fight. Quite interesting...

Q What did you do before you became a broker? What happened with that?
A After I finished college, I bartended for years and was working in a family restaurant doing management and marketing while I decided what I wanted to do. At times, I would get gigs to be a backup singer for a record label in their studios and I also recorded a few of my own songs. I decided to go to real estate classes and get my license while I was bartending and singing because that just was not making the cut. While I waited for my first sale it was definitely a struggle but nothing was as satisfying as making that first sale. That is when I realized I would put the singing career and bartending on the hook and everything went up from there. I am now a Broker Associate at Weichert Realtors Best Beach.
