Except for the Art Deco district, and fancy parking garages, Miami is not as nearly well known for its architecture as it should be. Our metropolis is covered in goodies, and here's one: 2 Casuarina Concourse, in Coral Gables, designed by Miami's very own Alfred Browning Parker. The 11,000 square foot house, with its six bedrooms and seven baths, at $12.5 Million is very modern, and quite large, and yet it was fully adapted to the local climate and ecology, using passive sustainable design methods decades before the contemporary idea of sustainability existed. The broker's pictures really don't do it justice.
