It turns out the country's largest metro areas, including Miami, are also its largest college towns, according to census data crunched by Kevin Stolarick of the Martin Property Institute, and reported over at the Atlantic Cities by Richard Florida. Judging by total number of college students, Greater Miami is the eighth largest college town in the US with 380,000 students, almost beating oh-so-collegiate Boston itself, which has 400,000 students. That's not bad for a city who's namesake university, the University of Miami, is nicknamed "Suntan U." [The Atlantic Cities]
