Frank Sinatra Wire

Frank Sinatra and pals did not, we repeat, did not hang out at the fabulous Vagabond Motel, like local lore says. It was just a nice middle class motel designed by one of Miami's greatest architects, B. Robert Swartburg, with a cocktail lounge the size of a shoebox. Old Blue Eyes, along with Jackie Gleason and Arthur Godfrey, actually hung out quite often at a place down the street called 'The Vagabonds.' That place was a full-size, 300 seat nightclub owned by a band of the same name, a block north of the Freedom Tower, downtown. Today, it's a parking lot. [Biscayne Times]
