Construction of the massive new south runway at Fort Lauderdale International Airport is coming along swimmingly. The runway is so big that it goes beyond the airport, and just keeps going, passing over the Florida East Coast Railway tracks, and US 1. When completed, it'll be about 60 feet tall, and sit on a veritable mountain of limestone fill. How is all that fill getting to the site? By train of course, along the same tracks it will soon go over. [FLL; WSVN]
