The former Miami National Bank building, at 121 SE First St., an historic Beaux Arts edifice downtown, is being adapted into a new boutique hotel, the Langford. Through a rather novel financing method called the EB-5 visa program (People are given green cards for a $500,000 investment in the US, basically investing their way into the country), developers hope to fund the conversion of the bank into the hotel. Still in its early stages, the project's website says there will be a "high energy restaurant", 130 guest rooms, two suites, a rooftop bar, and a multipurpose room on the mezzanine level.
