"It is a crying shame what is happening in Miami Beach! When is the design review board going to wake up and stop this madness! The whole historic landscape of Miami Beach with its classic Mediterranean Revival and Art Deco architecture is going to be gone in a blink of an eye leaving one huge house after another that look like commercial office blocks after they reach a certain size. Modern needs to be small to remain classy - monolithic contemporary just looks like a Bloomingdales department store has been built in the middle of the neighborhood. Wake up wake up people & stop this madness from happening!" -anon [Master Modernist Jorge Arango's 'Villa May' May Be A Goner]
