Negotiations and planning for All Aboard Florida, the new privately-funded passenger rail line from Miami to Orlando, are jumping through their final hurdles. The FEC is essentially trying to get the land for the last 40 miles of track, the part that will connect their existing line with Orlando, for little to no cost from the state of Florida. They're also hoping Orlando International Airport will fund a major chunk of the new station to be located there. Although the new train line will be enormously beneficial to Florida, and seems like a worthy investment for the state/airport, forty miles of land and a station on the house doesn't exactly sound like 'private funding' to us.
