The brave entrepreneur or gutsy multinational corporation that finally drops some serious dough and buys Casa Casuarina, deceased fashion designer Gianni Versace's former ocean drive palace will have some serious lawyering-up to do, according to an article in the New York Times. The house is embroiled in legal problems, including restaurateur Barton G's lease that lasts through 2020, accusations of price inflation, a mortgage in default, a lender looking to foreclose, and three years of unpaid property taxes. All the gilding in the world, of which the house has plenty, can't make that legal headache disappear.
