Replying in the comments to our post on the 11th of October of the recent sale of the name of his establishment 'Scotty's Landing' to the big new development to replace the quaint bayside local watering hole, Monsieur Scotty Wessel has something to say. Here it is, in full:
"Some people have come forward and questioned my support for the Grove Bay Project that could take over the waterfront lease that Scotty's Landing and Grove Key Marina now have. I would like to clear up a few things. The reason why I support the Grove Bay plan is because it is the best choice for everybody who loves Scotty's Landing. I've met with the Grove Bay Group and I believe their plan will save Scotty's Landing and keep it the place we all have enjoyed for more than 22 years. Some things will change. There will be more seating and the restaurant itself will be a little higher off the ground, so the view will actually be better and more people will be able to enjoy it. There will be more trees, a bay walk and a new public pier for better access from the water. Grove Bay will also save our employees' jobs, which will ensure the spirit of "Scotty's Landing". This is why I support this project, and will encourage our patrons to do the same."
