Jade Signature's Latest Render; Riviera Uses Fake Banksy Tiles

New, 3 comments

SUNNY ISLES—Starchitects Herzog & de Meuron's Miami condo tower currently under construction, Jade Signature in Sunny Isles Beach, has a new rendering and this time the building is showing off its modernist lagoon style pool deck. It's like a lagoon, but in the abstract and thus looks like a glowing white freeform curving swimming pool with a few well placed straight lines (which wouldn't exist in a real lagoon) thrown in for kicks.

SOUTH BEACH— Those 'Banksy tiles' adorning the new bathrooms of the South Beach Group's Riviera South Beach are totally and undeniably fake the Miami New Times has discovered. It turns out they were purchased from a tile company called Peronda that created a line of tiles inspired by, but completely unaffiliated with, Banksy the famous street artist. "That's why we call [the tiles] 'Bansky', not 'Banksy'" says a representative from the tile company. Maybe the Riviera, which had claimed they were real, just didn't notice? Maybe.
