Miami-Dade County Commissioners, giddy as schoolgirls, are thrilled that David Beckham wants to make Miami the home of his new Major League Soccer team, which will likely be called Miami Beckham United. They've voted unanimously to begin negotiations on a new privately funded soccer stadium. As for where exactly that stadium would go, right now Beckham and Co. are still looking at the southwest corner of PortMiami, but it could still go anywhere downtown.
