Inside A Super Lavish $114M Manse; Judging The Hearst Tower

The latest New York City real estate goings-on from our sister site Curbed NY...

1) Upper East Side: Onyx-clad bathrooms, an indoor swimming pool, a movie theater with a balcony, a dressing area that doubles as a panic room, a 2,000-square-foot rooftop deck—these are just a few of extravagant features in the 40-foot wide mansion at 12 East 69th Street, currently on the market for a mindboggling $114,077,000. It's being sold by owner of the Florida Panthers NHL team, Vincent Viola, and his wife. The photos are, oh, insane.

2) Midtown West: We asked folks on the street to evaluate Norman Foster's Hearst Tower. It's pretty hilarious to witness the wide-ranging reactions from a handful of curbedside amateur archicritics.

3) Tribeca: The city's saddest penthouse, 3BR/3.5BA triplex in Tribeca that has been on and off the market since 2008, retains its title in 2013. This apartment, which has run through six brokerages and is now asking $5.5 million, should have its own reality show. It's really quite pretty, too. In other penthouse news, the Trump Soho Presidential PH wants a whopping $50M, and a Midtown East offering used as the residence for Leonardo DiCaprio's character in The Wolf of Wall Street wants $6.5M.

4) Queens: In one neighborhood in Queens, homeowners go all out decorating their homes for Christmas. And we mean all out.
