Rewind to 2007 when the Vizcayans, an historic preservation organization for Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, fought the Related Group over a three-tower condo complex that would have loomed 400 feet above Villa Vizcaya's historic formal gardens. Vizcaya won and the towers weren't built. So, earlier this year the Vizcayans sued Related again for legal fees related to the suit, claiming that Related tried to illegally pay off other neighborhood groups to the tune of $8 million bucks. Related says "Hey, everyone does that. It's normal business practice" and a judge agreed, even though the jury did not, but the Vizcayans are appealing.
