Since decamping from Bal Harbour Shops, the people at Louis Vuitton take every opportunity they get to gush enthusiastically about the future of the Design District as Miami's most awesome new mega lux urban shopping destination, but they're no dummies. The real money isn't in the Design District yet. It's at Aventura Mall, where Louis just opened one of their largest stores in the US.
Louis Vuitton's permanent Aventura Mall store is a two-story space that LV calls a maison, with features like a private entrance separate from the mall, a garden terrace, private shopping rooms, art by Jorge Pardo and others, and a grand staircase with handrails wrapped in Louis Vuitton print. And it's the only Louis Vuitton in the United States where men can design their own shoes, which is apparently a big deal.
