Today in the Atlantic Cities, Richard Florida has a breakdown of where Miami's creative class is - census tract by census tract - and where it is not. Check out his interactive map, along with an analysis here. Hotbeds of creatives include Coconut Grove, Brickell, Downtown, Miami Beach, and some of Miami's far western 'burbs like Weston and Wellington. Areas lacking include Coral Gables, South Beach, and Hialeah. Overall, Florida says (with quotes from the Knight Foundation's Matt Haggman, Beached Miami Editor Jordan Melnick, and yours truly) Miami is rapidly becoming more creative, but that it still has a lot of catching up to do.
