The first look at what should be a hotly anticipated new hotel, the recently announced Arquitectonica-designed SLS Brickell, was just so incredibly bland that this 'improved version' of the rendering that appeared on exMiami (In color, not a super grainy photocopy of a black & white printout) gave Curbed Miami the briefest hopes for more architectural boldness that were rather quickly dashed. The SLS Brickell still looks like it will be a 52-floor glass box with some diagonal articulation of the balconies. Oh, how original.
In other news, it'll have 133 hotel rooms, 450 condo units, and "It will be a hotel that will be just flushed with great art" according to a quote in the Miami Herald by developer and head-honcho of The Related Group, Jorge Perez, who is doing the residential portion of the project.
