Out of a slew of possible names submitted by readers, developer Asi Cymbal has picked the name Design41, submitted by Curbed reader Michael Bryant for his new Design District building by starchitect Enrique Norten. Mr. Bryant will be winning a gift certificate for a dinner at Asi's nearby restaurant Gigi valued at $100, and a table at Asi's nightclub, Bardot, with a complementary bottle valued at up to $300. The readers that submitted the five finalist names (TEN Norten, Vetro, Spectrum, Distrito, and Quadra) are each receiving a $50 gift certificate for dinner at Gigi. Congratulations to everyone, and especially to Mr. Bryant.
Meanwhile, out on the construction site of Design41, demo work has already begun and Asi expects to begin laying the foundation in May. A groundbreaking ceremony will be announced in April, and Design41 is expected to be completed in May 2014.
