The powers that be in Pinecrest are taking issue with portions of the plan submitted by Trader Joe's for its first South Florida store, causing delays in obtaining a construction permit, according to the admins at exMiami. And it's been a whole seven months since they signed a lease for a building across from the Dadeland South Metrorail Station. So, what's holding it up? "Trader Joe's is currently in the process of preparing revisions to building plans submitted to the Village of Pinecrest as necessary to address comments of the Village's structural engineer/plans reviewer. Upon resolution of those review comments, it is expected that a building permits will be issued for the start of construction." according to Pinecrest planning director Steve Olmsted. So, there's that.
