That sculpture of the Barefoot Mailman by Christy Gast (actually of Gast, but in the guise of the legendary letter carrier), in which his/her bare feet take the place of honor by upending the sculpture on its head, has just been installed in Bal Harbour's Founder's Circle. Yes, there's an artistic justification for the sculpture having to do with subversion of the monumental, a subterfuge between Gast's identity and the mailman's, etc. etc... but it's also just a spoof, a historical prank, a practical joke to spot while you're driving down the road.
