Curbed Miami photographer Michael Wayne Cole (a frequent Flickr Pool contributor) went out to FIU's main campus to check out the redesigned courtyard of the Deuxieme Maison building, now dubbed the 'Sky Lounge' and designed by the chair of the school's Landscape Design department, Roberto Roviro. Through a delicate touch Roviro has transformed a brutalist concrete cavern into a pleasantly relaxing student lounge with giant communal chaise longues, and just-as-huge hanging latticework chandeliers of air plants.
