Michele Oka Doner Designs A Fabulous Pavilion For Doral

New, 1 comment

Check out this sculptural pavilion by artist and Miami native Michele Oka Doner that's being constructed in a park outside Doral's new city hall, at the heart of the new Downtown Doral project by Codina Partners. Like much of Doner's work, it's inspired by South Florida's natural environment, but in a totally not cliche way. "I wanted something feral, something that spoke of the wilderness of the adjacent Everglades," says Doner to Metropolis Magazine, which is a way more appropriate natural association for Doral than beaches, considering how close the Everglades are to the city, and the beaches aren't.
