Miami Central Station Gets Its Windows, Roofs, Etc.

New, 1 comment

As Miami Central Station, the new Tri-Rail/Amtrak hub at Miami International Airport, chugs towards its completion in about eight months, the whole thing is beginning to resemble its finished self. Roofs are on, windows are in, platforms are being built out, and concrete walls and supports are all completed. It looks like (and this might be wrong, so don't sue us) the only major elements left to do are the platform awnings, the looong escalators, and the tracks themselves. Then slap a coat of paint on, drive a celebratory golden spike in the rails, and let's open this thing for business. We're kidding of course, but the thing does look damn close to being done.
