What, what? All Aboard Florida, the fabulous new train to Miami (well, sort of new. It's also a revival of a fabulous old train, the glorious Florida East Coast Railway) is set to begin construction on its rail infrastructure by the end of 2013, with a launch the end of 2015. Okay, that's a tad later than the seemingly very optimistic date they originally announced (2014. Like, really?) but building a whole 230 mile passenger train system, even one using lots of pre-existing track, takes a long time people. And they're doing it. Hell, they're awarding engineering design packages for various sections of the track in August (that's in two days from now!) and September.
