I'm fascinated by the story of Charlotte Jane, for whom the Charlotte Jane Memorial Park Cemetery is named. I would never known of her, of course, had it not been for my research into Coconut Grove, which started with falling in love with the historic 120-year old E.W.F. Stirrup House. Charlotte Jane was Ebenezer Woodbury Franklin Stirrup's childhood sweetheart. When the Bahamian immigrant had established himself is South Florida, he went back home to marry her and bring her back to Florida with him. I visit there often and have taken thousands of pictures there. My blog post "A Charles Avenue Love Story ? Unpacking Coconut Grove ? Part Five" is what I have been able to learn so far. -Headly Westerfield [Mapping The Few Historic/Cool Cemeteries Of South Florida]
