A lucky architecture obsessive could soon be the proud owner of Zaha Hadid's former residence, while keeping the Great Lady Z as a neighbor. Zaha Hadid, architectural revolutionary, celebrity, glamour girl, and Miami lover, is selling her double unit at the W Hotel & Residences South Beach for $5.7 million in hopes of upgrading to a larger space in the building. Curbed learned this from a reliable source with knowledge of the transactions. The double-unit, #728-30, a combination of a two bedroom and an oceanfront studio, can be sold together or separately, and are both offered fully furnished.
Although we had thought we heard that Ms. Hadid retained contractor Waleed Wahab to customize the units with her distinctive sense of style, that custom redo never happened. Our source tell us, however, Zaha is waiting to see if she can upgrade, and will redo whichever pad she ends up with.
