The sale of The Versace Mansion/Casa Casuarina, which fetched $41.5 Million at auction earlier this week, has been approved by a bankruptcy judge, and thus made official, in Miami. The winning bidder, VM South Beach LLC, is comprised of the Gindi and Nakash families of New York. The Nakash family notably owns the Jordache Jean company and rather conveniently the Victor Hotel located adjacent to Casa Casuarina.
The Nakashes will reopen it as a hotel and operate it in conjunction with the neighboring Hotel Victor. The Versace family will be asked for permission to use their name in the branding of the hotel solely so that rapper Drake, lover of all things Versace, can continue to stay there when he's in town.-Dan Frost
