"Lincoln Road was designed/conceived to be a pedestrian mall (not a mediocre food court) so viewing this as something that diminishes Lincoln Road is historically inaccurate. This is a story as old as time - an area becomes popular through a mix of the arts and 'mom and pop' retail only to become more gentrified as rents escalate and national brands come in to capitalize on the popularity. The benefit of this cycle is that those artists and retailers usually collaborate and relocate - usually resulting in additional destinations (a la Wynwood). The more this happens the better for all of us."-anon [Historic Facade Could Replace Van Dyke Cafe]
