The Surf Club expansion by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier will house a boutique Four Seasons Hotel & Residences, according to owner Fort Capitol. Two of the glassy towers to rise over the 1930 members-only private club, which was designed by Russell Pancoast for rubber titan Harvey Firestone according to the press release, with its Spanish barrel tile roof and reconstructed cabanas, will contain the Four Seasons' 80 hotel rooms and 150 homes and penthouses. In the latest Miami example of branding architects to sell expensive condos, the Four Seasons project will sell Richard Meier Signature Homes and Penthouses, ranging in size from 1,400 to almost 8,000 square feet, with views stretching from the Atlantic to downtown Miami and interiors and finishes that are supposedly personally selected by Richard Meier. It's Starchitecture Gone Wild.
