Miami is the 5th most walkable big city in the U.S., according to the pedestrian-oriented blog Walk Score. Public transit-wise, it slips down the pole to 7th, ahead of Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle, in a just-released survey of U.S. cities with a population of at least 300,0000. Scarily, Miami comes in at number two for mass transit systems in the South. Despite the regularity of pedestrians struck and killed by cars in Miami, the city's sun-kissed streets are given an eminently walkable score of 76. [Walk Score]
