The 74 room Metropolitan by COMO is speeding towards a January 27th opening according to a press release at Miami Beach's historic Traymore Hotel, and the hotel is already aggressively promoting itself to Valentine's Day lovebirds. The hotel had been aiming for a December opening. New renderings show super light and airy interiors by designer Paola Navone with vaguely art deco details (the term streamlined moderne might be more appropriate) lots of spherical lamps, and very 1940s looking guest rooms.
The hotel will have the rather interesting feature of having water views from both the front and the back, takes advantage of a little-known public promenade in the rear that called Miami Beach Drive or Ocean Walk that has existed since Miami Beach's early days.
