Inside South Beach's Abandoned South Shore Hospital

New, 2 comments

The site of the on-again-off-again SoBe Park project, which is currently off again and up for sale, the South Shore Hospital has been empty for years. It's been damaged by hurricanes, and rapidly deteriorated into visual blight on the end of Alton Road where it approaches the MacArthur Causeway, but apparently nobody thought to deprive the hospital of its medical equipment. Check out Abandoned Florida's photos insidehttp://miami.curbed.com/places/sobe-park the hospital

The equipment remained there like the real life set of bloody a horror movie, until as recently as 2012, when urban explorer Bullet of Abandoned Florida took these pictures. According to Abandoned Florida, demolition began on the building in late 2013, although Curbed has not heard word of the project's revival. Any updates to the project would be very welcome, at the tipline. Two more photos are after the jump, and for the full gallery, head over to Abandoned Florida.
